EARLY Goals of Care Training: Foundational Skills using the Serious Illness Conversation Guide

Registration required

Registration is online and by credit card only. The registration fees are as follows:

  • Dartmouth Health Employees: $10
  • External Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers: $50
  • All Other External Healthcare Professionals: $20
  • Financial need-based scholarships are available upon request. Please email amanda.e.sanchez@hitchcock.org for more details.

The registration deadline is 5 days prior to the activity date. There will be no refunds after that date. A $10 administrative fee for a registration fee of under $50, and a $25 administrative fee for a registration of $50 and over, will be retained on all refunds requested before the registration deadline.

Overview

This three-hour interactive, skills-based session gives healthcare professionals of any discipline a talking map for effective, efficient goals of care conversations. Led by Dartmouth Health Serious Illness Care Program faculty, the session features active learning and reflection, including progressive skills practice. Participants will leave the session with the skills and tools to begin having these conversations with their patients. To maximize time for skills practice, prior to the session participants will be expected to: watch a short video (8 minutes) and print out training materials.
