We fulfill our aims as an Age-Friendly Health System through 4 foundational pillars. These pillars work together to support, align, coordinate, and promote geriatric initiatives across Dartmouth Health:
Creating a unified Age-Friendly care approach through the Aging Resource Center, providing dementia resources and education, caregiver support, falls prevention programs, advance care planning, and more
Providing high-quality education to health professions students, healthcare professionals, patients, and families, through our Northern New England Geriatric Education Center and other education initiatives
Providing research support and mentorship to students, clinicians, and researchers studying a broad range of topics related to older adults
Ensuring that Dartmouth Health policies are consistent with Age-Friendly care, and forging relationships with key government officials and agencies to advocate for geriatric programs and research funding
