Project ATTAIN: Neurodivergence, Trauma, and Sensory Approaches with Youth

Traumatic experiences can disrupt the nervous system, leading to differences in sensory processing. Some children experience heightened awareness and reactions. For children who have experienced trauma AND are neurodivergent, this can be even more overwhelming.

This training defines the 8 sensory systems and through case examples will describe how a child may experience difficulties regulating their senses. Presenters will share approaches to use with children who are having difficulty managing their sensory overload.
