Prerequisite: Fostering a Culture of Belonging: Foundations for Building Supportive, Inclusive, High-Performing Teams

Implicit bias occurs when we unconsciously form opinions about people, groups, or situations without knowing or considering all relevant facts. Left unchecked, implicit bias is a significant barrier to a culture of belonging. It erodes teamwork and reduces quality and safety in healthcare. In this one-hour workshop, you will learn the PAIIR (Pause, Ask, Inform, Impact, Restore) tool for interrupting bias in order to safeguard a belonging culture. And you will have an opportunity to practice the tool in scenarios in the healthcare workplace.

If you have questions, please email career.development@hitchcock.org.
