Frequently asked questions

How do I get to Hanover Psychiatry?

Our Hanover office is located at 23 South Main Street, Suite 2B, Hanover, NH 03755. We are on the second floor, located above The Works restaurant.

Where do I park?

Metered parking is offered in downtown Hanover and along side streets. Meters tend to be 2 to 3 hours; however, there are two 10-hour lots on Maple Street.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not accept any insurance, including Medicaid or Medicare. Our patients pay us out-of-pocket at the time of service, and we will give you a receipt with all necessary codes and payments to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you have out-of-network benefits you may receive reimbursement. We are unable to guarantee reimbursement; please contact your insurance company to inquire about this.

Is your building wheelchair accessible?

Please let us know of your needs. There is an elevator in the back of the building; call us for details regarding accessible parking.

What happens at the first appointment?

Your first appointment will be a consultation. The clinician will gather background information about you, hear about symptoms you may be experiencing, and make treatment recommendations. The consultation does not guarantee treatment at Hanover Psychiatry, but we will recommend other treatment options if we are not the best fit for you.

What is your confidentiality policy?

We consider confidentiality to be of utmost importance and will never share your personal information with anyone without your written permission unless legally obligated to do so to maintain your or someone else’s safety.

What should I bring with me?

Although we do not directly bill insurance companies, we can help you submit for out of network benefits. If you would like our help with this, please bring your insurance card. Please also bring any important documents that you would like us to review, such as past evaluation reports or legal documents. Please bring the name and contact information for any individuals whom you would like us to be able to contact on your behalf.

How long is the first appointment?

Most initial psychology appointments are one hour long. Initial psychiatry appointments are typically 90 minutes for adult patients. Child and adolescent psychiatry consultations are typically 2 to 3 hours and involve an initial meeting with the parents and a second meeting with the child and parents.

How do I pay for services?

We take cash, check, and major credit cards. Payment is expected at the time of service. Please call our front desk at 603-277-9110 to inquire about our fees.
