Cheshire Medical Center has several opportunities for established patients to get their flu vaccine in the coming weeks.
Patients can schedule an appointment for the hospital’s drive-thru clinic at its 580 Court St. campus on Saturday, October 18, from 8 to 10 am, using the myDH patient portal or by calling their primary care provider’s office. Call 603-354-6760 for Cheshire’s Court Street location or 603-354-6900 for Maple Avenue.
Cheshire’s Walpole and Winchester family medicine locations will also host flu clinics for their patients. Walpole’s clinic—at 11 Westminster St.—will be held Tuesday, October 21, from 8 am to noon and 1 to 4 pm. Walpole patients can schedule an appointment by calling 603-756-3960. Winchester’s clinic—at 20 Warwick Road—will be held Thursday, October 23, from 8 am to noon. Winchester patients can call 603-239-6351 to book an appointment.
Flu vaccines for those 6 months and older and high-dose flu vaccines for people 65 and older will be available at all flu clinics. These shots are recommended for anyone 6 months and older, with rare exceptions, because they help prevent people from contracting the virus or developing severe illness.
If a patient is unable to attend one of Cheshire’s flu clinics, other ways to get vaccinated include:
- Cheshire Medical Center’s Retail Pharmacy: Standard and high-dose 65+ flu shots will be available to established patients ages 9 and older on a walk-in basis, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Primary Care: Vaccines will be offered to all patients at the time of an existing visit.
- Pediatric Primary Care: Children and parents or guardians are able to get a flu shot at the time of an existing visit.
- Pharmacies: Almost all local pharmacies offer flu shots.
