For 100 years, this event has demonstrated what is possible when a community comes together in support of local healthcare
Lauren A. Geddes Wirth, MD, president and CEO of New London HospitalNew London Hospital (NLH), a member of Dartmouth Health, is excited to announce the return of the annual Hospital Days celebration, marking 100 years of festivities. The event is scheduled to take place July 30 through August 1.
For a century, Hospital Days has brought the community together in support of New London Hospital and the care it provides to people in the Lake Sunapee region. What began as a local fundraising effort has grown into one of the area’s most cherished traditions, drawing generations of families, businesses and visitors together each summer.
This year’s parade, themed “A Century of Celebration,” invites participants and attendees to showcases their favorite decade – from the roaring 1920s to the vibrant 1990s and beyond – through decorated floats, themed attire and spirited walking groups.
“Not only is Hospital Days a community celebration, it is a reflection of the longstanding connection between New London Hospital and the people we serve,” said Lauren A. Geddes Wirth, MD, president and CEO of New London Hospital. “For 100 years, this event has demonstrated what is possible when a community comes together in support of local healthcare. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped make Hospital Days such a meaningful tradition.”
Proceeds from the 2026 Hospital Days celebration will support programs and initiatives that strengthen the care and services available to patients and families served by NLH and Newport Health Center. Every dollar raised stays local, helping ensure communities members continue to have access to the care they need close to home.
Hospital Days festivities will include the traditional parade, family-friendly activities, entertainment, and community events throughout the weekend.
In addition to the festivities, NLH invites members of the public to donate or loan Hospital Days memorabilia to a special Memory Lane Exhibit that will share Hospital Days history with patients and visitors at NLH throughout July 2026 and in a central location during Hospital Days.
