Colonoscopy

Detect colon disease early and treat it early

Colorectal screenings are one of the best ways to detect colon cancer early and to prevent serious colon disease. Colonoscopies are also used to evaluate gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms, such as bleeding and pain. A colonoscopy allows a doctor to examine the inside of your large intestine (colon) to look for colorectal cancer.

Colonoscopies are used to:

  • Screen for colorectal cancer
  • Remove pre-cancerous polyps
  • Evaluate GI symptoms, such as rectal and intestinal bleeding, abdominal pain, or changes in bowel habits
  • Diagnose GI conditions, such as Crohn's disease and many types of colitis
