Tom GolisanoDartmouth Health Children’s, the region’s most comprehensive pediatric health system, has received a philanthropic investment of $30 million from entrepreneur and visionary child health leader Tom Golisano. In recognition of this gift, Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD), the only children’s hospital in New Hampshire, will be renamed to Golisano Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Health in perpetuity. This is the largest philanthropic gift Dartmouth Health has ever received and will be a catalyst for growing capabilities by enhancing the workforce and accelerating priority projects to modernize critical spaces at the children’s hospital and to expand services at Dartmouth Health Children’s clinics in southern New Hampshire.

In 2025, Mr. Golisano launched the Golisano Children’s Alliance, a national initiative that provides strategic funding and brings together children’s hospitals across the United States to elevate pediatric care by expanding services, strengthening collaboration, and ensuring that children and families have access to the highest-quality medical attention close to home.
This investment will drive a leading-edge, complete renovation of the critical care units at the children’s hospital in Lebanon, NH. It will support the construction of newly designed and fully equipped state-of-the-art individual patient and family rooms in the Intensive Care Nursery, while a transformation and expansion of the hospital’s Pediatric Critical Care Unit will create a more functional space for the region’s most acutely ill and injured pediatric patients—bringing the top-tier standards of the highest specialty care to more children and families than ever before in the hospital’s history.

This announcement is part of a recent $225 million investment by Golisano, which includes five other children's hospitals joining the Alliance: Children's Minnesota, Johns Hopkins All Children's, Renown Health, Children's Hospital Colorado and Vanderbilt Health's Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital. The addition of these hospitals brings the total number of Golisano Children's Alliance hospitals to 21 across the U.S., past the halfway mark toward Golisano’s goal of 40.
