Jessica F. Collins, DNP, RN, NI-BC, recently joined Dartmouth Health as its inaugural chief nursing informatics officer (CNIO). This new role represents a critical step forward for the Dartmouth Health system, with Collins leading enterprise clinical informatics practice and serving as an executive voice for nursing informatics practice system-wide.
Collins joins Dartmouth Health after 20 years at University of Kentucky HealthCare, where most recently she was that health system’s CNIO, directing enterprise-wide nursing informatics strategy across an 1,100-bed academic medical center while aligning clinical systems with patient safety, quality and operational priorities. Prior to transitioning to her role in informatics, Collins worked for 12 years in clinical nursing in the pediatric intensive care unit at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. She also served as a part-time lecturer on healthcare systems and informatics for the University of Kentucky College of Nursing.
Collins earned her doctorate in nursing practice, with a focus in executive leadership, at the University of Kentucky. She was recognized in 2025 by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the top CNIOs in the United States.
