Everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality care, regardless of their insurance status or financial circumstances
Joanne M. Conroy, MD, CEO and president of Dartmouth HealthDartmouth Health expanded its longstanding partnership with Good Neighbor Health Clinic and Red Logan Dental Clinic to strengthen access to care for uninsured and underinsured patients in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont.
As part of the collaboration, Dartmouth Health is supporting a dedicated medical director role to ensure patients receive consistent, high-quality care while strengthening connections between the clinics and Dartmouth Health services when specialty or advanced care is needed. The medical director will oversee clinical operations, guide policy development and support volunteer clinicians and learners working within the clinic.
Dartmouth Health physicians, trainees and learners have volunteered with Good Neighbor Health Clinic for many years, helping provide primary care, mental health services and dental care to community members who may otherwise face barriers to accessing care.
“This partnership reflects Dartmouth Health’s deep and ongoing commitment to the health of our community,” said Joanne M. Conroy, MD, CEO and president of Dartmouth Health. “Everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality care, regardless of their insurance status or financial circumstances. By bolstering support for Good Neighbor Health Clinic, we are helping ensure patients receive the same standard of care and clinical excellence that defines Dartmouth Health.”
Good Neighbor Health Clinic has served the Upper Valley for more than 30 years and also functions as an important training site for medical students, resident physicians, and dental externs.
“This role strengthens our ability to deliver high quality, consistent care to our patients,” said Elizabeth Franson, CEO and executive director of Good Neighbor Health Clinic and Red Logan Dental Clinic. “With dedicated medical oversight, we can better support our volunteers and learners, while ensuring our clinical practices remain aligned with the highest standards.”
Leaders from both organizations emphasized the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to community health.
“I'm so grateful for the partnership of Dartmouth Health to bring this vision to life for our clinic,” said Franson. “This investment allows us to really deliver on helping people meet their potential for physical and mental wellbeing, and overall better health and wellness in our community.”
