Dartmouth Health launches The Thread healthcare information campaign

The care of our communities is why we’re here. Our commitment to that care goes beyond our walls.

The Thread is our way of leading people through an often complex and multifaceted healthcare experience to where we can all come together to support the health and wellbeing of your loved ones, community, and you.

Dartmouth Health CEO and President Joanne M. Conroy, MD

Dartmouth Health announced the launch of “The Thread,” a new online information campaign designed to help explain a complex healthcare system, the programs that shape patient care and the impact those programs have on local communities.

The campaign provides resources on several topics such as the economic forces that are driving up the length of hospitals stays and other healthcare costs; the existing mental health infrastructure and the persistent areas of need; the unique challenges of rural healthcare; and the benefits of having an academic health system in the state which invests millions of dollars annually in public health initiatives and care for patients who are uninsured, under-insured or unable to pay; and more.

“In an era of widespread misinformation, we’re committed to delivering reliable insights, rooted in the latest in medical science,” said Dartmouth Health CEO and President Joanne M. Conroy, MD. “The Thread is our way of leading people through an often complex and multifaceted healthcare experience to where we can all come together to support the health and wellbeing of your loved ones, community, and you.”

Dartmouth Health will be sharing information from The Thread through various communication channels, including social media, and will continue to update its online archive of resources with fact sheets and videos that distill complex topics into easily digestible, reliable and up-to-date information.

Dartmouth Health invites members of the public to explore the site and submit questions on the topics that matter most to them. New content will be added regularly to reflect current issues and the evolving healthcare and regulatory landscape.
