Dartmouth Health psychologist Jessica K. Salwen-Deremer, PhD, was honored by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation New England chapter’s 2024 Rising Healthcare Leader award earlier this month at the organization’s annual young professionals event in Boston. The winner of this award is chosen for their leadership in working to improve quality of life patients living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Salwen-Deremer specializes in both psychiatry and gastroenterology. In addition to working with patients in a clinical setting, she conducts research focused on improving access to behavioral health care for people with gastroenterological conditions, and understanding how sleep problems can impact inflammatory bowel disease. She serves as director for Dartmouth Health’s Behavioral Medicine for Digestive Health program.
The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-fueled organization dedicated to finding cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and improving the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.
