Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC), a member of Dartmouth Health, has announced the appointment of Moriah J. Tidwell, MSN, RN, as chief nursing officer. Tidwell has served as the interim director of nursing operations at MAHHC since January, and she first joined MAHHC in 2024 as the unit nurse manager of the emergency department. 

“In addition to her outstanding leadership in the emergency department, Moriah has been a valuable asset to our organization while serving as interim director of nursing operations,” said Matthew R. Foster, MD, MMM, CEO and president of MAHHC. “Moriah brings a strong work ethic and commitment to patient care, and I’m confident she’ll continue to be an exceptional leader as chief nursing officer.”

Before working at MAHHC, Tidwell served as the director of emergency services and inpatient psychiatry at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, NH, a role she held for six years. At DHMC, she also worked in the emergency department and intensive care unit, fulfilling roles including unit nurse manager, RN unit supervisor, and clinical nurse. She remains active as a sexual assault nurse examiner at DHMC. 

“We welcome Moriah to her new leadership role at MAHHC where, as chief nursing officer, she will oversee and provide support for a skilled and compassionate group of nurses and other clinicians,” said Susan A. Reeves, EdD, RN, CENP, Dartmouth Health's chief nursing executive.

Tidwell is a graduate of Norwich University, where she received both her Master of Science in nursing and Bachelor of Science in nursing. She is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and the Emergency Nurses Association.

Tidwell is a long-time resident of Windsor, VT, where she lives with her family.
