The DAISY and Bumble Bee Awards are a reflection of the culture we work hard to build every day

Dartmouth Health’s Valley Regional Hospital (VRH) and Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) recently recognized nurses, clinical leaders and support staff for their compassionate care and dedication to patients through the DAISY and BEE award programs.

At VRH, employees and their loved ones gathered to celebrate recipients of several honors recognizing excellence in nursing leadership, education, teamwork and patient care.

Those recognized include:
•    Karen Valcourt, ADN, RN – DAISY Award
•    Anthony C. Guidone, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC – DAISY Award
•    Cynthia Largess – Being Extraordinary Everyday (BEE) Award 
•    Rachel Noyer, MSN, RN, WCCN – DAISY Nurse Leader Award 
•    Barbara Smith, BSN, RN – DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators 
•    VRH’s Care Management Team – DAISY Team Award 
•    Sandra Fish – DAISY Champion

Additional staff members were honored for their commitment to care and service at MAHHC. Award recipients include:
•    Moriah Tidwell, MSN-L, RN – DAISY RN Nurse Leader Award
•    Lily Burke, RN, BSN, CLC – DAISY RN Award
•    Moriah Wojciechowski, LNA – Bumble Bee Award

“The DAISY and Bumble Bee Awards are a reflection of the culture we work hard to build every day,” Foster said. “These individuals represent the very best of what it means to care for others, and we are proud to celebrate them.”

Tena Barnes Carraher, who co-founded the DAISY Foundation, attended both celebrations and spoke about the importance of recognizing extraordinary compassion and clinical excellence in healthcare.
                               
The DAISY Award is an international recognition program honoring nurses for the skilled, compassionate care they provide patients and families every day. The BEE Awards recognize non-nursing staff members who support the delivery of that care.
