This is a meaningful milestone not only for our dedicated hospice and home health teams, but also for families looking for peace of mind from a reliable, high-quality care provider during an often scary and challenging time in their lives.

Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire (VNH), a member of Dartmouth Health, cemented its position as a leading provider of home health and hospice services in the region when it became nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), a nonprofit accrediting body recognized for its rigorous standards of quality and safety.

“This is a meaningful milestone not only for our dedicated hospice and home health teams, but also for families looking for peace of mind from a reliable, high-quality care provider during an often scary and challenging time in their lives,” said VNH CEO and president Tammy L. Tarsa, MBA, BSN, RN. “It’s also a testament to VNH’s commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered home health and end-of-life care to individuals and families.”

The accreditation affirms VNH’s hospice and home health programs adhere to comprehensive standards following a period of careful review of patient records and VNH clinicians in the field by ACHC this past spring. The hospice and the home health programs were evaluated separately.

Recently, VNH’s hospice program was awarded a four-star ranking by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and its home care program achieved a three-star CMS ranking.
