It’s our pleasure in Dartmouth Health Government Relations to host this Health Policy Grand Rounds series and provide the political context to the coming changes to Medicaid.
Matthew S. Houde, Dartmouth Health Government Relations DirectorDartmouth Health’s Office of Government Relations invites the press and public to its latest virtual Health Policy Grand Rounds series. “Medicaid – A Shifting Landscape” provides an opportunity to hear policy experts dissect, analyze, and help better understand policy activity and how it impacts healthcare access.
The first installment of the series, “Introduction: What happened in D.C.,” is available to view now. In this discussion, Dartmouth Health Government Relations’ Matthew S. Houde was joined by Dartmouth Health CEO and president Joanne M. Conroy, MD, and Association of American Medical Colleges senior director of government relations, Len Marquez, to review the recently enacted HR. 1, or the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” The second session, “The Impact on Patients and the Communities We Serve,” will outline the impact of Medicaid changes at the state level, in both New Hampshire and Vermont, and will be available to watch on Wednesday, October 8. The third and final session, “Supporting Our Patients,” will review patient populations served by the Medicaid program and share resources, both internal and external, for providers and patients, with an air date to be determined.
“The ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ included many provisions impacting healthcare access and delivery, potentially for the next several years,” Houde said. “As a result, health systems, providers, and the communities they serve are all working to understand these changes and how to mitigate potential negative impacts, particularly in rural areas. It’s our pleasure in Dartmouth Health Government Relations to host this Health Policy Grand Rounds series and provide the political context to the coming changes to Medicaid.”
